Kyung Hee University can mean different daily routines depending on your campus, program and student route. Its Seoul campus is in Dongdaemun-gu; its Global campus is in Yongin. Before comparing courses or choosing housing, identify the campus and department where you would actually study. The word “Global” in a program name does not always identify the Global campus.

This profile covers the main undergraduate campus choices, named English tracks, exchange and Korean-language routes, and the questions that make a realistic study plan. Sources were checked October 5, 2026. The university’s current Spring 2027 international undergraduate guide is still labelled provisional. Its program information is useful for an initial shortlist, but applicants should check the final guide and subsequent notices before relying on procedures, eligibility or costs.

Start with Seoul or Global campus

The Seoul campus address is 26 Kyungheedae-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. The provisional undergraduate guide lists programs across humanities, social sciences, management, hotel and tourism, and other disciplines there. Check the individual program row: a university having a department does not establish that the department accepts your particular international freshman or transfer route.

The Global campus is at 1732 Deogyeong-daero, Giheung-gu, Yongin. Its listed undergraduate areas include engineering, electronics and software, applied and life sciences, international studies, languages, art and design, and physical education. It is a different study location from Seoul, with its own departments and practical arrangements. An admissions office handling documents in Seoul does not mean your Global-campus classes will be in Seoul.

Make the campus part of every comparison. Record the department’s exact name, teaching location and admission route together. Then look at the academic plan and nearby housing. If you are comparing Kyung Hee with a university in Busan, keep the actual campus and department just as visible there. City labels alone do not tell you whether a program fits your subject, language preparation or everyday budget.

For a graduate program, start again with the relevant graduate school’s guide. The undergraduate guide does not establish a master’s or doctoral program’s campus, supervisor requirements or available intake. The same care applies when a program changes its name or appears under a different unit in an English translation.

Match the study route to your goal

A full undergraduate degree, an exchange semester and a Korean-language course serve different purposes. For degree study, use the international undergraduate admissions office and the guide for the intended intake. The program list, language requirements, nationality and education rules, and freshman or transfer availability all need to fit the same application route.

For exchange, begin with your home university’s international office and Kyung Hee’s incoming exchange information. The university describes nomination by the home institution, an application and host acceptance. A partnership or nomination is part of that process; it does not settle admission, course access or housing. Confirm which campus and departments the arrangement covers before building a semester around particular classes.

For Korean-language study, Kyung Hee’s Seoul Institute of International Education has its own regular course information, placement process and housing guidance. Its regular courses are described as ten-week programs. Language-course admission is a separate decision from undergraduate admission, and finishing a course is not an automatic offer of a degree place.

These distinctions help you choose the right contact. A language-center housing question belongs with that route’s housing staff; an exchange course restriction belongs with the exchange office and department. If your goal is a degree after language study, ask the undergraduate office what the eventual application requires rather than assuming the language center can promise progression.

Understand what an English track covers

The provisional undergraduate program tables name English tracks in Business Administration and Global Hospitality & Tourism Management at the Seoul campus, and International Studies and Asian Studies at the Global campus. Global Hospitality & Tourism Management is a useful reminder to check the campus column instead of inferring location from a program’s name.

The governing Korean guide describes most required degree credits in the English tracks as taught in English. That is a narrower claim than an entire degree requiring no Korean. Before deciding, ask the department for the current curriculum, compulsory courses, electives, assessment languages and graduation requirements. An English-track label is a starting point for that discussion.

Separate teaching language from admission evidence. A guide accepting an English test for a named route does not establish that every course elsewhere at the university is taught in English. Nor does an exemption from one Korean-language graduation condition establish that there are no other departmental requirements. Use the exact track and current guide when checking your preparation.

For exchange students, the information sheet warns that course access and availability differ. A course using both Korean and English materials may still demand Korean comprehension for discussion, assessment or administration. Ask for the intended semester’s course details and confirm how they fit your home university’s learning agreement before treating a list of courses as an approved schedule.

Check transfer study separately

International transfer routes appear in the provisional undergraduate guide, but availability and previous-subject restrictions differ by major. Check the transfer column for the exact program and the eligibility section that applies to your previous institution and studies. A freshman program listing is not proof of an equivalent transfer opportunity.

Entry year and recognized credits are also different questions. Prepare transcripts and descriptions of the courses you completed, and ask how the department evaluates them. Required subjects, prerequisites and graduation conditions can leave additional study even when the admission route places a student in a later year. Do not budget on a fixed graduation date before that review.

If you are choosing between a fresh start and a transfer, compare the remaining degree plan, teaching language and total likely study period. Ask how an important required course is offered and whether it depends on an earlier prerequisite. A route that appears shorter on the application page may still need more semesters to complete the academic requirements.

Build a budget from the right semester

The provisional Spring 2027 guide uses Fall 2026 reference figures for tuition and housing. Those tables help identify cost categories, but they are not a confirmed Spring 2027 invoice. Use the final guide and your own payment notice for an actionable budget, keeping campus, discipline, student route and fee period together.

Separate tuition from the rest of the plan. Include housing and any meals charged with it, transport, food outside the residence, learning materials and the initial costs of settling in. If considering a private rental, check its deposit, recurring charges, contract period and location. These are budgeting questions, not verified prices for a particular property or a promise that one campus costs less.

Scholarships require the same careful reading. The guide describes different selection and continuation conditions across awards. Admission does not mean every student receives support, and an initial award does not establish automatic renewal. Check the award decision, what it covers, the payment timing and any academic or program-change conditions.

Make the cash flow visible. Even a tuition reduction may leave housing, living expenses or payments due before other funding arrives. Compare costs before and after confirmed support, rather than treating a possible award as money already available. If an old guide and a current notice give different figures, ask the responsible office which applies to your own semester and route.

Apply for housing through your own route

University admission and a dormitory assignment are separate outcomes. Kyung Hee’s Fall 2026 Seoul housing notice for newly admitted and transfer international undergraduates and certain graduate students illustrates a separate application and selection process. It is historical guidance for that group, not a Spring 2027 housing checklist or a rule for every campus.

The Seoul language institute has a different housing page. It describes semester-based applications, a separate extension process and the possibility of not receiving an assignment. Its housing arrangements should not be substituted for the degree or exchange route. Check the current page for your category, including room type, stay period, payment and move-in requirements.

For Global-campus exchange housing or any other route, use the responsible office’s current instructions. Ask whether a place has actually been assigned, what is included and whether the dates cover your arrival and departure. Plan an alternative while allocation is uncertain. Avoid signing a private contract around a campus you have not yet confirmed.

Make campus life practical

A useful campus-life plan starts with where your classes happen and how often you will be there. Check the academic buildings, the housing location and the places where you would study, eat and meet people between classes. Visit an official map and inspect a prospective journey in a current mapping app. Do not use an attractive Seoul photograph to imagine daily life at the Global campus.

There are route-specific ways to build contact. The exchange office describes its student ambassador support, while the Seoul Korean-language center describes an optional one-to-one buddy program for intermediate students. Those are different programs with different participants. Check the current application and eligibility rather than assuming all international students receive a buddy.

For clubs and other activities, start with something you would like to attend repeatedly, then ask about the joining period, membership, language and expected costs. The practical goal is regular contact that fits your timetable. A published description of a previous activity can suggest a question to ask, but it is not proof of a current recruitment round or a reserved place.

Before committing, write a short comparison note: exact program and campus, intended route, teaching language, remaining academic questions, likely study period, confirmed funding and housing status. Bring unresolved points to the relevant office. That gives you a stronger basis for choosing Kyung Hee than a broad impression of the university, while keeping the provisional guide’s limits visible.

Frequently asked questions

Are Seoul and Global campus interchangeable?

No. Seoul is in Dongdaemun-gu; Global is in Yongin. Departments, courses and practical arrangements differ. Confirm the campus of your exact program and route before arranging housing or planning a semester.

Can I complete a degree entirely in English?

The provisional guide names specific English tracks and describes most required credits as taught in English. Check the department’s current compulsory courses, electives, assessment and graduation requirements before assuming an entirely English degree.

Does Kyung Hee accept international transfers?

The provisional undergraduate guide lists transfer routes, with program-specific availability and eligibility. Admission year does not guarantee credit recognition or a fixed time to graduation. Use the final intake guide and ask the department about remaining requirements.

Is an exchange application the same as degree admission?

No. Exchange involves the home institution’s nomination and Kyung Hee’s application and acceptance process. A full degree uses its own admissions route and guide. Course access and housing also need separate confirmation.

Is university housing guaranteed?

No universal guarantee is established by the sources used here. Degree, exchange and language-course housing have separate instructions and allocation. Check your actual assignment and prepare an alternative while it is pending.
